Day 1:

Perth to Margaret River

Start Point
Tourist Bus Stop, Horseshoe Bridge, Wellington St, Perth WA 6000, Perth, Western Australia, Australia

Our adventure begins as we travel south from Perth to Busselton, a major tourist destination. The 19th-century jetty stretches 1.8 kilometres into the azure Geographe Bay. We'll have a coffee on the waterfront, walk along the white sandy beach, and talk about what's in store for your Esperance tour. Meet Wardandi custodian Josh a little farther down the road, who will present you to the world's oldest living civilization through his real and personal interpretation. Enter the Ngilgi Cave for an unforgettable underground didgeridoo performance. This afternoon, we'll be sampling our way across the world-famous Margaret River region. From wine and gin to coffee and beer, chocolate and cheese, and so on. There's also time to stroll up Margaret River's main street, which is home to an eclectic mix of stores and galleries. Finally, arrive at Big Valley Caravan Park, where you'll have dinner and spend your first night under the Milky Way's stars. Today's drive time is around 3.5 hours.

Day 2:

Margaret River to Walpole

This morning, set out on an exciting 6km walk from Conto's to Redgate Beach via one of the most magnificent stretches of the Cape to Cape Track. After a morning of climbing, we drive to Surfers Point at the mouth of the Margaret River, where surfers carve up the ocean for a swim and picnic lunch. We'll head south this afternoon into the magnificent woodlands of the Walpole Wilderness Region. Set your tent at idyllic Peaceful Bay and visit Western Australia's largest tingle tree. Watch the sunset over the sea before settling in for another night of campfire stories under the sky. Today's driving time is around 4 hours. Stay at the Peaceful Bay Caravan Park, which includes showers and toilets.

Day 3:

Walpole & Albany Region

We'll pack up camp and head to William Bay National Park after breakfast. Greens Pool's blue water and snow-white beach are ready for swimming. Cruise through a picturesque stretch of coastline to Albany, marvelling at the amazing rock sculptures and granite bluffs created by years of natural erosion. Two of our favourite are Natural Bridge and The Gap. Travel to the Porongorups, which rise like an island from the terrain, and then embark on a two-hour walk through the forest to Castle Rock. It's a bit of a hike, but it's well worth it for the breathtaking views of the region. Drive through the scenic Stirling Ranges before setting up camp at a private campsite at Mt Trio in the late afternoon. This includes a shower and toilet. Today's drive time is around 3.5 hours.

Day 4:

Mt Trio to Cape Le Grand National Park

Take a 40-kilometer trip over one of the most beautiful segments of oceanside road you'll ever see on our way to Esperance. Take a swim at Twilight Beach, one of the many beautiful beaches along the Great Ocean Drive. Grab a cappuccino in Esperance before heading east to Cape Le Grand National Park. Set up camp in Lucky Bay, where the ocean is every shade of blue you can imagine and the sand is so white and powdery it squeaks between your toes. The rest of the day is entirely at your disposal. Take a bushwalk through the untamed terrain or relax on the beach and enjoy the peace and quiet. We'll spend two nights in the well-equipped campground. Today's travel will take around 6 hours, with numerous breaks along the way.

Day 5:

Cape Le Grand National Park

Sunrise is a holy time in this place, and it's also when the friendly western grey kangaroos are most active. Come on down to the beach to say hello before we spend the entire day exploring this amazing park. Travel through lush bushland, swim in beautiful bays and coves, and learn about the area's diverse flora and animals. In the late afternoon, we embark on one of the tour's best climbs, climbing Frenchman Peak to witness the sunset on our final night together.

Day 6:

Esperance to Perth

End Point
CBD, 55 William Street, Perth Western Australia 6000, Australia

We have a lot of ground to cover today, so we'll get up early and get going. We'll stop for lunch in a typical outback village before continuing on to the 2,700-million-year-old Wave Rock. Surfing this natural granite wonder, which rises 15 metres above the ground, is a must-see photo opportunity. Then it's back on the bus to see York's mediaeval municipality. It's easy to see why this place was the first inland colony for Western Australia's early colonists, surrounded by beautiful countryside. Discover the Rabbit-Proof Fence, which was constructed between 1901 and 1907 to keep rabbits and other agricultural pests from the east out of Western Australia. Finally, arrive in Perth approximately 6.30 p.m. after a 9-hour journey with stops along the way.
