After breakfast, we begin the journey by visiting the magnificent Great Pyramids and Sphinx on the Giza Plateau, before continuing to Sakkara to see the Step Pyramid, Egypt's first completed pyramid, as well as ancient Pharonic tombs. After breakfast, board your Nile Felucca. Watch the world go by as you float down the Nile, observing rural life on the banks and taking in the changing landscape of the majestic river. After breakfast, we take an air-conditioned bus to Luxor, which has been characterised as the world's greatest open-air museum and is home to some of the most magnificent monuments from ancient Thebes. On the route, we stop at the Kom Ombo temple, whose flawlessly symmetrical twin gates overlook the magnificent riverfront. In the afternoon, we take a tour of the Nile's East Bank. You'll see the massive Karnak Temple, which some regard as Egypt's most important Pharonic building - the country's might in ancient times - as well as the beautiful Luxor Temple, which is met by the stunning Avenue of Sphinxes. Stay the night at your Luxor hotel. Breakfast is provided.

After breakfast, we explore Luxor's West Bank, beginning with the world-famous Valley of the Kings, the world's richest archaeological site. Then it's on to the spectacular Temple of Hatshepsut (Deir al-Bahri), erected for Egypt's only female monarch. Finally, we see the huge Colossi of Memnon, the last remnants of Amenophis III's temple. We next take an air-conditioned bus to Hurghada, Red Sea. Stay the night in Hurghada at your hotel. Breakfast and dinner are included.

Arrive in Cairo and be transferred to your hotel. Today we travel Cairo, starting with the Egyptian Museum, where you can see the riches from King Tutankhamun's tomb. We then travel to the Coptic district of old Cairo to see the hanging church, so named because it is suspended above two Roman gate towers. Then it's on to the Mohamed Ali Mosque, better known as the Alabaster Mosque, which stands majestically atop the Citadel of Saladin. Following that, we visit the old Cairo Bazaar, Khan El Khalili, with its maze of interesting lanes filled with gift sellers and coffee cafes. Stay the night in Cairo at your hotel.
