Introduction

Mauritius is a volcanic island that is almost totally encircled by coral reefs. The northern region is a flat plain that rises to a central plateau and is surrounded by minor mountains that may have constituted the rim of an ancient volcano. The primary sources of hydroelectric electricity are the Grand River South East and the Black River. The main source of water is Lake Vacoas, one of the largest reservoirs. The island was previously home to the famed Dodo bird, which is now extinct, but it is rich in birdlife and fauna, including the Samber (a species of deer). A subtropical marine environment maintains a reasonably consistent temperature throughout the year. There are several enormous sugar cane fields as well as tea plants for local usage.

It is sometimes referred to as Paradise Island because of its beautiful beaches, untamed waterfalls, tropical temperature, and mountainous places to explore. Your vacation will be completely pleasurable whether you are diving, big game fishing, dophin viewing, or simply relaxing.
