This 3-day tour includes classic South Vietnamese sights such as the Cu Chi Tunnels and other major attractions in Ho Chi Minh City. Visit rural villages and the famous Cai Rang Floating Market to delve beneath the surface of the Mekong Delta.
Pick up from your hotel between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. Visit the Independence Palace, also known as the Reunification Palace, which was built on the site of the previous Norodom palace. The architect Ngo Viet Thu designed the Independence Palace, a well-known monument in Ho Chi Minh City. Continue seeing the exquisite French Colonial architecture such as the Notre Dame Cathedral and the ancient Central Post Office. The magnificent sight of the War Remnants Museum follows, with a massive exposition of both Indochina wars. Have lunch at a nearby restaurant. Depart for the Cu Chi tunnel; the trip will take around an hour and a half via bus. Before touring the tunnels, you will be given a brief explanation followed by an introductory movie explaining how the tunnels were built and how the people survived in the severe conditions of the war. Then, take your time exploring the remaining area and tunnel systems, which included specially constructed living areas with kitchens and bedrooms alongside other martial facilities such as storage, weapons factories, field hospitals and command centres to assist whoever lives inside the tunnels in meeting their basic needs.Furthermore, many secret trap doors and lethal traps are buried throughout the maze-like tunnels for security purposes during the conflict. Following that, there will be special tea and cassava (guerilla cuisine during the conflict). Time for relaxation or for those who want to try the real shooting gun during the break. 19:00: Return to Saigon, where you will be dropped off at your accommodation. Dinner and stay in Sai Gon on your own.
07:30 - 08:00: Pick up from your hotel and begin the journey to My Tho. Visit the Vinh Trang pagoda, which dates from the late 1800s. Then board the sampan and cruise down the river, passing through the four magnificent islands known as Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Tortoise. Stop by Unicorn Island and wander through the village trails to admire the orchards, tropical fruits, and Vietnamese folk music played by the locals. Visit the fruit plantation. Rowed in a tiny sampan through the Thoi Son canal, experience the beauty of the countryside, visit the family business and bee-keeping farm, enjoy honey tea and coconut candy workshop.Have lunch at a nearby restaurant. It's time for a break. The day is spent cycling around Tan Thach village, visiting locals and learning about their daily lives in the Mekong delta. Those who do not like to participate in the bike tour can relax on hammocks and enjoy the cool breeze. Continue to Can Tho City and spend the night there.
Breakfast will be served at the hotel. You can enjoy a leisurely boat ride to discover the gorgeous tributaries of the Lower Mekong River (Bassac River) before visiting Cai Rang Floating Market, the area's most colorful floating market. Tour of the local noodle factory on foot. Visit the Munir Ansay Pagoda, a Khmer temple known for its unusual structure. Then, by boat, travel to the Con Son tourist region, where you will visit a fruit plantation and sample seasonal fruits. Return to Ho Chi Minh City after lunch. Drop off at your hotel between 17:00 and 17:30. Package ends after 3 days in Sai Gon.
